Gathering Resonance is a series of collective eavesdropping sessions, listening into sounds and conversations occurring within the Archive Souq audio library. The series attempts to inquire into pieces of audio literature, and subsequently circulate echoes of the original sounds in order to enrich and amplify it.
The first episode finds itself in the middle of ‘Resonance Gathering’, a collection of works by nineteen interdisciplinary performers, who interpret Pauline Oliveros’ score To Valerie Solanas and Marilyn Monroe in Recognition of Their Desperation (1970) — a work for sound and light that was written in response to the anxiety and political unrest of 1968 in America.
