Brad Kahlhamer: Swap Meet

How can artistic practice and its unfoldings create spaces that surpass territorial and economic borders? Brad Kahlhamer: Swap Meet—taking place at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art—is born out of the artist’s experience in swap meets, spaces of reciprocity and exchange that generate meetings where (self)recognition enables community building. This publication works as an extension of Swap Meet in two instances: first, as an exploration of Kahlhamer’s work through texts that expand his practice verbally, and second, as a kind of replica—if not an iteration—of his Nomadic Studio sketchbooks.
